Boom, Epilogue

According to me recent entries, I'm not happy about the Boom Festival 2010. It's not the festival itself, strictly speaking, it is mainly the sum of its parts. Or rather, the contributions of the people. I tend to look at the sides and the details as well, and there I see the most problems.

'Self composting toilets' are not so special, just doing what humanity did before they used (drinking) water for flushing. And in the evening, the cleaning staff comes in with breathing masks and a cleaner in their hands, which probably has every hard chemical that exists mixed into it.
At least, so I've been told, the situation got better and the toilets didn't overflow like previous times.

It seemed like the showering system was well thought through, but the constructions couldn't handle the masses of people.
I have seen but one solar panel, which probably powered some local bulb or something, but otherwise there were diesel generators all over the place.

Then there is the issue with drugs - or psychedelicas, 'just' weed or whatever distinctions there are; For me there's one thing in common: illegal. In the last night I managed to be in my tent right after sundown, when most people are in their tents preparing for the night. I sat in the dark and could listen to various people running around in the area, haggling about this stuff ("How many milligrams?", "Nah, powder is better than pills", ...) - Like it was a huge bazaar. At least I found out that the common price tag for every 'unit' appears to be ten Euro.
It seems like the only way to enjoy all of this is to be "trippin" all the time.

I figured, since there were so many things around me wrong, I must have been the wrong one and planned to leave.

There are of course good things as well, which makes it an interesting experience for me - But I probably will not repeat it. The shops were nice, also the decoration and most of the music of course, although I couldn't listen to it from close up most of the time. My favorite memories are about the Gamelatron (Which I'm still planning to upload some video for) and Jon Hopkins' performance.

Yet in essence, I prefer starting up a CD in my living room and enjoy the music there.

Meinen letzten Einträgen zufolge bin ich nicht glücklich über das Boom Festival 2010. Es ist genauer gesagt nicht das Festival selbst, sondern eher die Summe der Teile. Oder vielleicht die Beitrgäge der Leute. Ich schaue oft zur Seite und auf die Details, wo ich die meisten Probleme sehe.

'Selbst kompostierende Toiletten' haben nichts spezielles, sondern machen nur das was die Menschheit früher gemacht hatte, bevor (trinkbares) Wasser zum Spülen verwendet wurde. Und am Abend kommt das Reinigungspersonal mit den Atemschutzmasken und einem Reiniger in der Hand, der vermutlich sämtliche harten Chemikalien die es gibt reingemischt hat.
Zumindest, so wurde mir es gesagt, ist die Situation besser als früher, wo die Toiletten übergingen.

Das Duschsystem dürfte gut durchdacht sein, doch der Aufbau war dem Ansturm nicht gewachsen.
Ich habe auch nur ein einziges Solarpanel gesehen, welches vermutlich gerade mal eine Birne oder so betrieb, aber ansonsten gab es Dieselgeneratoren überall verstreut.

Dann ist das Problem mit den Drogen - oder Psychedelika, 'nur' Hanf oder welcher Unterschied auch immer da sei; Für mich gibt es eine Gemeinsamkeit: Illegal. In der letzten Nacht kam ich in mein Zelt gerade nach Sonnenuntergang, wenn die meisten Leute im Zelt sind um sich für die Nacht vorzubereiten. Ich saß im Dunkeln und hörte verschiedene Leute herumlaufen, wie sie über das Zeug feilschten ("Wieviel Milligram?", "Ne, Staub ist besser als Pillen", ...) - als wäre es ein riesiger Bazaar. Zumindest hörte ich heraus, dass der übliche Preis für eine 'Einheit' zehn Euro ist.
Es scheint als wäre die einzige Möglichkeit, das alles toll zu finden, in dem man permanent "auf einem Trip" ist.

Ich erkannte, da so viel um mich herum falsch war, dass ich wohl der Falsche sei und plante meinen Abgang.

Es gibt natürlich auch gute Dinge, die das alles zu einem interessanten Erlebnis machen - Doch ich werde es bestimmt nicht wiederholen. Die Geschäfte waren toll, genauso wie die Dekoration und die Musik natürlich, obwohl ich vieles davon nicht direkt hören konnte. Meine Lieblingserinnerungen sind vom Gamelatron (Wofür ich immer noch plane ein Video hochzuladen) sowie die Aufführung von Jon Hopkins.

Doch im Endeffekt ist es mir lieber eine CD im Wohnzimmer zu starten und dort die Musik zu genießen.
